BRETT ANDERSON

Favourite British Things:
London, Eastenders, John Hurt, Music, Kew Gardens

Views on Britain:
"We've got our own style. The rest of the continent probably laugh at us behind our backs, but there is a beauty in that; there's a romanticism in scruffiness. Let's face it, we're never going to be Milan. You've got to be honest about who you are - I could ponce around in Versace, but I like secondhand clothes, old suits. It's the faded glamour I find interesting. I think most British bands' success is based on revenge - getting kicked in the teeth and fighting back. You can either be a rock musician or a footballer. And I was shit at football."
